The J-Spot is the Miles Memorial CME
Church Book Club.
At our summer meeting at the historic
Ancacostia Community Museum, we were so
pleased to have the author of the book, The
Crossing Over of Mattie Pearl, Andrea
Garrison present for our wonderful discussion.
Her book details the inspirational true story
about her mother's, Mattie Pearl, spiritual
journey to the other side. Mattie Pearl gives
vivid details about what she sees and hears
before she crosses over. Her journey opens
the door to those who have always believed
that there is something more beyond this
physical life.
Our discussion of this book allowed us to
openly talk about the experiences of close
friends and family members "passing over" to
the other side - what we experienced, what our
relatives experienced and relayed to us during
their "journey", what we took from this
experience as to how we should live our lives
and how we handle (or don't handle) death.
All of us highly recommend this book.
Next meeting will be in November and the
book is Pursuit of Happyness by Chris Gardner
